Teacher’s Day in South Korea passed last Tuesday.
Although there was a dire story from the Chosun Ilbo about general unhappiness in the teaching profession, many teacher’s passed the day happily wrangling their students and as always, trying to cram something of value into their student’s heads.
Yes, it’s always exhausting. And the semester that I spent teaching sixth-graders was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done, nonetheless there are moments where it can be one of the most rewarding jobs there is. After all, sometimes the best gifts are coloured in crayon.
